Kids on Wheels, a program of the BC Cycling Coalition, is looking for an assistant instructor for our exciting program this August! In this program, through the use of balance bikes (pedal-less bikes) and classroom activities, such as books, bike toys, songs and discussions, children get exposed to active lifestyles at the earliest possible age.
We are looking for people who are:
Passionate about cycling and have a basic knowledge about bikes
Have experience working with young children (aged 3-5), enthusiastic and feel comfortable around kids
- Open to new ideas and suggestions
Reliable and responsible
Available in the mornings from August 15 to the 19
Can provide a clean criminal record check
We will run a five-day session on August 15-19 at Quadra Daycare in West Point Grey. You’ll need to be there for three hours every day (9:15am to 12:15pm), including set-up and clean-up. There will be a mandatory training session the week before and you will need to spend a few hours during that week designing postcards for the kids to be given to them on the Friday bike celebration.
The rate for the five-day session is $300.
Kids on Wheels will most likely continue next year, so you might have more work opportunities with us in the future!
For more information about the program read the article on Vancity Buzz.
Please send a short cover letter and resume to the Kids on Wheels Coordinator, Maya Goldstein, by August 2, 2016 at: firstname.lastname@example.org. We thank all applicants for your interest, however only applicants selected for interviews will be contacted.
