Will 2022 be the pivotal year for change?

Looking back at 2021, with our heat-dome summer to devastating floods to below seasonal cold temperatures in December, we can all see our province is already living with with unprecedented weather shifts as a result of climate change.

The BCCC board and staff will be prioritizing our efforts to partner with cycling, micro mobility and climate advocacy groups across the province, and across Canada, to rally our voices for change.

For 2022, we will be continuing with our support of the provincial CleanBC Roadmap for 2030, and advocating for considerable increases in active transportation (AT) funding.

BCCC will also be organizing province-wide meetings with cycling organizations, advocacy groups, climate action groups on a regular basis - to listen, to learn, and to provide education and help wherever we can.

Our goal is to make government listen, and at the same time let government know the BCCC and our members are here to support and guide from every community across B.C.

Along with our focus on mode shift and climate action goals, BCCC will also be continuing our push for Safer Passing Legislation. The provincial government has yet to prioritize a safer passing law, even following the successful 2021 UBCM resolution!

We can all be advocates for change - and we will need your support more than ever in 2022.
